While selling Christmas trees is our primary business, we realize that much of our success comes by keeping family traditions alive. Many of our customers have been coming here since we sold our first tree in 1990. For the past 19 years, Honeybee Acres has been operated as a family run Cut Your Own Christmas tree farm. Our farm is conveniently located on the west side of Elgin on Bowes Road.

We sell three types of trees, Pines, Spruces and Firs. Check out the website www.realchristmastrees.org for tree information on tree types. If you know what kind of tree you prefer, we can direct you to the proper area, although most of our customers prefer to wander the field until they find the perfect tree, regardless of type.

After the tree is cut down, they are put into the tree shaker where the loose needles and other debris are removed. This is a very important part which keeps a mojority of needles out of your home.Whenever possible, the tree is then baled in netting to make it easier to get in the house and into the tree stand. Place the tree into the stand before you remove the netting.

Hot apple cider and cookies come with the tree, but for the hungrier crowd, there is a snack bar where you can get grilled hot dogs, home made chili, cupcakes, brownies, hot chocolate and other hot and cold drinks, and pancakes on Sunday mornings. There is a warming house with a woodstove to take away the chill.

In 2009, we are open 9 days, November 27,28 and 29, December 4,5,6,11,12, and 13, from 8:30 until 4:30

At Honeybee Acres, we try to make your experience a pleasant one. Indoor parking is available in inclement weather. We have saws you can borrow or buy, and carts to help you haul your tree out of the field. If you need help tying your tree, one of the associates will be glad to help out. You get a picture of you and your tree. We leave the hardest part, picking out the perfect tree, up to you.

This year we have our own economic incentive. All our pine trees are priced at $29.95, a $10 savings over the regular price, allowing real trees to be more affordable to more people. Spruces and fir trees are priced at $49.95.

We also have wreaths and garland for sale, and two sizes of American made tree stands.
